Glo on Government Street has a 180-degree wrap-around patio overlooking the Inner Harbour, complete with heating, blankets, and umbrellas. We have spent many late-summer evenings on this patio with Ziggy curled by the fire pit, and it is consistently good.

Here is the date night formula we recommend most often to dog-owning clients: start with a walk along the Dallas Road waterfront at sunset. Park near the Cook Street entrance and walk the off-leash corridor toward Clover Point. The sunset over the Strait of Juan de Fuca in July and August is spectacular, and your dog gets a proper run before dinner.
From there, walk up Cook Street into Cook Street Village. You have several dog-friendly dining options: the Beagle Pub for a pint and a pie, Jones Bar B Que for a relaxed dinner on their patio, or the Village Torquay if you want something slightly more polished. The whole circuit is walkable, your dog is exercised and calm by the time you sit down, and you do not need to drive anywhere.
Lido, Inner Harbour
Lido on Government Street has a heated waterfront patio right on the Inner Harbour, with a menu focused on Italian-inspired small plates, pasta, and cocktails. The patio is long and narrow, running along the harbour side of the building, and it is one of the more stylish dog-friendly patios in the city.
